The Roe River in the USA is called the world's shortest river, like it, its length is just 201 feet or 62 meters. The river follows parallel to the mighty Missouri River which is the longest river in the country.

According to the US official data, the deftness of the Roe River is just 6-8 feet. With this length and deftness, the river occupies a place in the Guinness Book of World Records as the shortest river in the world. Tourists both domestic and foreign visit the river to enjoy its scenic beauty every year.

Before the fact about the Roe River came to light, the River 'D' had been called the shortest river in the world. The River 'D', whose length is just 440 feet, follows in the Oregon state of the USA.

In India, according to the official data, the shortest river in the country flows in Rajasthan. Data says that the River Arvari is the shortest river in the country. The river has a length of just 90 kilometers and it follows in the Arvari district of Rajasthan.

It has been said the once rivers helped grow human civilizations across the world. Thus, it is a basic human instinct that people want to know about rivers.

Earlier, a successful campaign to get the Roe River recognized by the Guinness World Records as the shortest river in the world originated in 1987 with fifth-grade students of teacher Susie Nardlinger at Lincoln Elementary School in Great Falls.

The river was unnamed at the time, so the students first had to petition the United States Board on Geographic Names to accept their proposed name, Roe River, then submit their proposal to Guinness.

In 1988 future NFL football player Dallas Neil, then a student at the school put in an appearance on The Tonight Show as part of this effort.
