NEW DELHI: Amid the Russian invasion of its neighbor country Ukraine, many people from India including students are left stranded in Ukraine.
India has earlier made efforts to bring back its people home from Ukraine but failed due to the risk associated with the country following a military operation by Russia in almost all major cities of Ukraine.
On Friday 25 February, the Indian embassy in Ukraine has issued an important advisory for all those Indian citizens being stuck in Ukraine following the crisis.
The advisory notice informed that the Indian government and its embassy in Ukraine are currently working to establish routes from southeastern European country Romania to central European country Hungary to relocate the Indian nationals.
According to the advisory released today the Indian mainly students residing close to the border checkpoints are advised for departure at first in an organized manner.
While travelling the border checkpoints, the students and other people from India should take a printout of the Indian flag and put it on their vehicles as advised by the Indian embassy.
The advisory also advised the Indian citizens for carrying their respective passports along with US dollar cash money as it may be required in emergency expenses.
Through the advisory, the Indian embassy informed that at the time when the Indians move towards the border they must also carry all other important items including the COVID-19 double vaccination certificates.
It is also advised that all Indian people moving towards the border must remain in contact with the helpline numbers after they reach the checkpoints.
Since the beginning of the crisis, the Indian Embassy in the Russian hit Ukraine has issued several advisories directing and managing the situation by ensuring safety for all the Indians.
It may be mentioned that several students from different states of Indian including the northeastern states of Assam and Meghalaya are stuck in the Ukraine capital Kyiv. As per reports many of the students were pursuing medical studies in the country.
On Thursday 24 February Russian President Vladimir Putin has announced the military operation in Ukraine and soon after the announcement it attacked Ukraine by bombing different parts of the country.
