PHILADELPHIA: According to reports arriving here on Monday, a student of Indian descent, aged 21 years, was shot dead in Philadelphia.

The student that died was identified as Jude Chacko. According to the reports, he was shot on Sunday as he was leaving work, by unidentified gunmen.

According to the report, "The victim's parents migrated to the US around 30 years ago from Kerela's Kollam district."Both a student and a part-time employee, Jude Chacko had two jobs. Two men assaulted him while attempting to rob him.

A student from India has been earlier the victim of an attack and this incident makes two the number of students slain in the United States this year.

On April 21, 2023, a petrol station in the US reported shooting and killing a 24-year-old student from Andhra Pradesh, according to the Columbus Division of Police.

The individual in question, identified as Saiesh Veera, was employed by an Ohio petrol station. Police reported that he was shot dead at work by unidentified assailants.

Additionally, the police had sent the suspect's picture and asked for assistance in identifying the accused.

According to claims from the media and authorities, a compatriot may have killed two brothers of Indian descent in Oregon earlier in May by shooting them.

The suspected offender, Jobanpreet Singh, 21, allegedly shot and killed two males in their 20s in a strip mall in Portland, Oregon, according to the reports.

The identity of the victims was kept secret by the police. The two victims, according to Kamal Singh, the owner of a tobacco shop across from the mall, may have been his relatives. The two males, according to Singh, were 20-year-old brothers.

He alluded to his cousins, "Just this morning, we spoke. Something was awry, according to my employee who contacted. There had been a shooting, he claimed, according to the Oregonian newspaper.

He appeared in court for an arraignment and initially pleaded not guilty to both homicide charges, according to the local media.

Tanus Allen, a worker at the company just across the street, asserted that he overheard a dispute and yelling while he was inside the shop.
