WASHINGTON  : A security researcher stated on Wednesday about an update by the hackers, who has reportedly hacked more 200 million Twitter email id's and posted them on an hacking forum.

Alon Gal, the co founder of Israeli cybersecurity-monitoring firm Hudson Rock, posted on LinkedIn. He termed it as one of the most massive and significant leaks he has ever come across. The security experts views this action as a way to slam the government or manipulate individuals.

The intention might also be to create extortion or brutality, as the hackers can use the email id as per their convenience. However, it has not been clear yet about the measures or remedies undertaken by Twitter to deal with the issue.

Moreover, it has not yet posted any comment on the report, updated by Gal on 24th of December. Screenshots of the hacker forum has flooded the internet on Wednesday, in which the data's are demonstrated.

Reuters are still confused regarding the authenticity of the data posted on the hacking forum. They are still not sure whether the information uploaded in the forum was posted from Twitter or not.

The hackers after attempting the contravention, did not leave a single trail of location or their identity. Some suspects the action might have taken place back in 2021, prior to Elon Mask's ownership in 2022.

Recently, a matter cam into light where 45,589 twitter accounts in India were banned for promoting child sexual exploitation and non-consensual nudity. Furthermore, 3,035 accounts were blocked for promoting terrorism in the micro-blogging platform in India.

Twitter in its monthly report compliance with the new IT rules, 2021, informed that a number of 755 complaints has been submitted by users of India. These include complaints received from individual users along with court orders.

The complaints mostly revolved around issues such as - hateful conduct, harassment, privacy infringement and so on.
