Shanghai: Prime Minister Narendra Modi, will be participating with the Chinese President, Xi Jinping in a virtual interaction for the first time since border stand-off at the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) summit on Tuesday. Later on November 17, both the leaders will be sharing a virtual platform for the BRICS meeting and on November 21-22 for the G-20 summit.
Last time the two countries were fighting over Doklam border stand-off which was resolved ahead of the BRICS summit in September 2017.
But this time the situation seems to be different as the officials from both sides have met 8 times and ended up with no result.
The two nations have been in continuous fighting over the last 6-7 years but since June the situation has been worsening after the Chinese intruded at the LAC surfaced.
The border witnessed the exchange of firing from both sides after 45 years. The situation is different this time as it was the first time that tensions were seen at the eastern end of Ladakh.
India has lost its 20 soldiers in the battle while the casualties on the Chinese side remain unreported. Rajnath Singh, Defence Minister also had a meeting with his Chinese counterpart in Moscow but the results remained inconclusive.
