Washington: Democratic Presidential candidate Joe Biden has won more votes than any other President in American history, breaking Barack Obama's record set in 2008 when he won a staggering 69.4 million votes.

Former Vice President Biden's total count now stands at over 70.8 million votes. The counting is still on.

More than 102 million people voted to elect their President. Biden's vote count is expected to grow when states like Pennsylvania, Nevada and Georgia continue to count mail-in votes.

Critical states like Michigan and Arizona's ballots are being counted however the presidential election's result is a mystery as neither has reached the 270 electoral counts.

Pollsters predict that Biden might secure more votes than Trump since the Democratic nominee is already leading the President by 3 million votes. It is for the second time Trump has lost the popular vote after the prior defeat with former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton in 2016, when she overtook him by 3 million votes. But she lost the electoral college and the election against Trump.

According to Wednesday's count, Trump has received about 68 million votes, beating his 2016 record.

Exit polls have conveyed that the economy and coronavirus were the priority concerns for voters. Trump's supporters rank the economy as the more pressing issue while Biden's supporters ranked coronavirus as the most important.
