The sericulture training institute is located in the district of Jorhat of Assam state, 20km away from Jorhat airport and well connected by road and railway. The nearest railway junction is at Mariani about 16 km away from Titabar. The institute was established in the year 1854 and continuously producing grass root level workers for NE region since inception. Presently the training Institute is offering a 1 year certificate course to the trainees deputed and sponsored by NE states like Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland etc. in addition to the home state. Moreover it offers short term skill upgradation training to the farmers in orientation towards modern technology and more than 500 farmers has been trained so far. The sericulture training institute Titabar has the minimum infrastructure like class room facility, hostel accommodation, modern machineries, labs etc. for conducting basic trainings in sericulture.
