About College of Horticulture, Bermiok: College of Horticulture, Bermiok, Sikkim was established on 21st May 2015 and falls under the beautiful landscape of Namchi Block of South Sikkim. The state itself falls under one of the biodiversity hotspots, the eastern Himalayas, which are bestowed with beautiful landscapes with rich diversity of variant species of flora and fauna. It is situated in the Southern mountain ranges of the Eastern Himalayas between Northern Latitudes 27 º 4′45″ to 28 º 7′ 45N latitudes ″ and 88 º 45″ to 88 º 35′ 15″ E longitudes. The state enjoyed varied agro-climatic zones ranging from sub-tropical in the lower valley to alpine in the upper ranges. It is the home of many orchid species.

The college site is situated at Tokal, Bermiok, at an elevation of 867 meters with a longitude and latitude of 88º 46.8' 92.7" and 27º 23.2' 36.3". It comes under the sub-tropical hill zone having a maximum temperature of 30 and minimum of 12 º C with an average rainfall of 1600 mm. It is congenial to grow many horticultural crops like French bean, garden pea, sweet potato, potato, cardamom, tea, ginger, solanaceous vegetables, turmeric, kiwi, apricot, peach, pear, many species of chilli, persimmon, plum, walnut, nectarin, aonla, ber, passion fruit, mango, guava, citrus, low chilling varieties of apple, orchids, anthurium, gladiolus, gerbera, rose, marigold and carnation.
