Qualification & Eligibility Criteria for Deputy Director Vacancy: 

Post Name

Qualification

Deputy Director

Officers of Central Government or State Governments or Union Territories including All

India Service other than Indian Police Service

(a) holding analogous posts on regular basis in the parent cadre or department; and

(b) possessing the following educational qualifications and experience:

(i) Bachelor's Degree from a recognized university;

(ii) Five years' experience in intelligence work.

Desirable:

Officers applying for the post should:

(i) be motivated enough to take up challenging tasks,

(ii) be capable of supervising over 400 officers,

(iii) have high level of integrity,

(iv) have outstanding communication skills, especially in writing,

(v) have previous work experience in Financial Management or Immigration work or intelligence and policy matters.

(vi) have done NDC or equivalent course from India or abroad

Additional Deputy Director

Officers of the All India Service or Central Services Group 'A' or Central Government or State Governments or Union Territories administrations-

(a) (i) holding analogous posts on regular basis in the parent cadre or department; or

(ii) with 5 years service rendered after appointment thereto on a regular basis in Level- 12 (Rs. 78,800 - 2,09,200) in the pay matrix or equivalent in the parent cadre or department; or

(iii) Defence Service Officers holding analogous post on a regular basis in the parent cadre or department; and

(b) possessing the following educational qualifications and experience:

(i) bachelor's degree from a recognized university or equivalent; and

(ii) 12 years' experience provided 7 years experience in intelligence work.

For Armed Forces Personnel (Deputation or Re-employment): The Armed Forces personnel of the rank of Colonel or equivalent who are due to retire or to be transferred to reserve within a period of one year and who possess the educational qualifications and experience prescribed for appointment on deputation, shall also be considered. If selected, such officers will be given deputation terms up to the date on which they are due for release from the Armed Forces; thereafter they may be continued on re-employment terms. In case such eligible officers have retired and have been transferred to reserve before the actual selection to the post is made, their appointment will be made on re-employment basis (re-employment up to the age of superannuation with reference to civil posts).

Desirable:

Officers applying for the post should:

(i) be motivated enough to take up challenging tasks,

(ii) be capable of supervising over 400 officers/staff,

(iii) have high level of integrity,

(iv) have outstanding communication skills, especially in writing,

(v) have previous work experience in VIP security.

Period of deputation including period of deputation in another ex-cadre post held immediately preceding this appointment in the same or some other organization/department of the Central Government shall ordinarily not exceed five years.
