The Northeastern Indira Gandhi Regional Institute of Health & Medical Sciences (NEIGRIHMS) Shillong was set up by the Government of India in 1987. It has been designed as a Postgraduate Medical Institute in the lineage of AIIMS, New Delhi, and PGIMER, Chandigarh. It is the First Postgraduate Medical Institute in the North Eastern Region and the Third in the Country established by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India.

The NEIGRIHMS has currently released its official notification stating 26 job openings for the posts of Junior Resident Doctors for one year tenure. Interested candidates can go through the details to know more about the necessary requirements and eligibility criteria for these jobs.

Educational Qualification & Eligibility Criteria for Junior Resident Doctor post:

Medical qualification included in Schedule I & II of the 3rd Schedule of the Indian Medical Council Act 1956 (persons possessing qualifications included in the Part-II of the 3rd schedule should also fulfill the conditions specified in section 13(B) of the Act). She/he must satisfactorily complete a compulsory Internship. The candidates must be registered with the Central / State Medical Council.

1. Two recent passport size photos

2. Certificate of Date of Birth (10th certificate)

3. Certificate of EWS / SC / ST /OBC (Non- Creamy Layer) certificate from the competent authority if applicable

4. MBBS passed certificate

5. MBBS mark sheets

6. MBBS Attempt Certificate

7. MBBS Internship Completion Certificate

8. Medical Registration Certificate for MBBS

9. NOC from present employer (if employed)

10. MCI Eligibility certificate for candidate(s) passing from a foreign medical institution

11. Result of screening test for Indian national with foreign medical qualification issued by National Board of Examinations

Selection Procedure for Junior Resident Doctor job vacancy:

Due to the ongoing Covid 19 Pandemic, the interview will be conducted through online mode i.e. through Video Conferencing. The Selection Committee has recommended that the results will be announced and the appointment letters of the selected candidates will be sent through their individual e-mail or via speed post.
