The Soil & Water Conservation Department, Meghalaya originated as the Jhum Control Wing under the Forest Department in the erstwhile composite State of Assam. It was subsequently created as an independent Department during 1959-60.

As a major Department of the State, the Department has been striving towards the conservation of the three most vital natural resources - soil, water and vegetation by implementing various conservation measures under various schemes and projects funded by different agencies.

Experience Details

Manager (Technical): Candidates Should have Minimum 3 years of relevant professional experience in design and execution of civil engineering works. Experience in construction of dams and related works will be an added preference

Assistant Manager: Candidates Should have two years and more experience in the field of identifying of sites, designing, planning and preparation of plan and estimates of engineering structures and related matters as per current SOR

Field Engineer: Candidates Should have two years and more experience in the field of preparation of plan and estimates of engineering structures and related matters as per current SOR

Programme Associate (Monitoring & Evaluation): Candidates Should have Minimum 2 years of experience in monitoring, evaluation, and planning in rural development projects. Well versed in data research, documentation, data gathering and monitoring

Programme Associate (Human Resources): Candidates Should have Minimum 2 years' experience in HR related functions

Programme Associate (GIS): Candidates Should have 2 year of experience in GIS related works in rural development or forestry or environment or related discipline with demonstrated competence in GIS based

Driver: Candidates Should have Should possess a valid driving license and Experience certificate

Multi-Tasking Assistant: Candidates Should have Experience certificate from previous employer/s clearly stating the nature of the job along with other relevant credentials should be submitted along with the application form

Chief Financial Officer: Candidates Should have at least 10 years of post-qualification experience
