About Nowboicha College 

Nowboicha College is the premier institution of Higher Education of Nowboicha Assembly Constituency, the second largest assembly constituency in Assam. It has already completed 35 years of its existence and has already celebrated Silver Jubilee in the year 2011-12. The college was established on August 28, 1985 to fulfil the long standing demands of the local rural people. The college was brought under deficit system of Grant-in-aid in 1998 and later on provincialised in 2005 by the Govt. of Assam. In course of its academic journey, the college authority got this institution assessed and accreditated in 2004 as per the instructions laid down by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) and succeeded in receiving C++ grade just after six years of getting under deficit grant-in-aid system. The faculty members of this college are trying their best to improve the academic scenario of this institution. At present the college has nine departments in humanities with only Honours courses. It offers courses of studies upto B.A. 6th Semester course according to the academic guidlines of Dibrugarh University. The college has good academic environment with basic infrastructure facilities like Digital cum virtual class room. Separate boy's and girls' common room, separate departments, Computerized Central Library along with Departmental Library, Auditorium with Gym facility, the NCC, the NSS, Canteen, a well furnished Computer Lab and Girls Hostel. The construction of multi-gym is on progress. A study centre of KKHSOU is also established in the college premises to provide better opportunities of higher learning to the people of this locality.
