Please name all the products that your brand Lifestyle Pitaraa offers? When did you launch your brand?
Lifestyle Pitaraa specialises in household utility and décor items, home furnishings, western wear, traditional wear, exclusive jewelleriers and customized gift items and a range of miscellaneous items. We curate seasonal items like rakhis for Raksha Bandhan and specific ritual and décor paraphernalia for Janmashtami and other flagship Indian festivals. We also especially (basis orders) craft gifts for housewarming parties. Lifestyle Pitaraa is an exhaustive one stop solution for all lifestyle requirements.
The brand has been actually informally launched some years ago. However, it was only during covid that I gave it a formal structure and name.
How are these products sourced or made? Your wall decors are particularly very fascinating and look unique? Tell us how you make them?
The products are sourced from manufacturers, wholesellers and importers from across India. Our wall décor pieces are essentially customized and we can create any design you want (per your imagination). We can also create the designs that you give from Google or anywhere. This is because we have an expert in-house team of artists who are skilled to replicate patterns of your choice (with precision to any size or colour) and create innovative pieces too. You Dream It and We Make It- is the guiding principle of my enterprise.
Please share about your entrepreneurial journey and tell us about yourself?
I am the eldest daughter of my parents Om Prakash Bajaj and Sheela Devi Bajaj and I was born at Hojai, Assam. I attended Don Bosco High School Hojai and completed my higher studies from Shankar Dev College Hojai. Thereafter I embarked on a diploma course in BCA.
Creativity was always my passion. So I started designing little things sitting at home during my leisure time. Seeing me nurture my hobby my family, relatives and friends encouraged me to start my business. They actually became my first clients and I started catering to their home decor and packing requirements. Thereafter I slowly started taking professional orders for creative decor products. My father was my biggest supporter and inspiration. He valued my work and always supported me in terms of the business know how and logistics. He helped me purchase raw materials from Kolkata and lent me innovative ideas to entrench my work among potential clients. I started exhibiting the products in other cities like Guwahati, Jorhat, Dibrugarh etc. I am grateful to my father for teaching me the basic strategy of starting and nurturing an enterprise.
Then in the year 2015 I got married to my best friend Dipesh Bajaj. He has always supported me in my work and substituted for me (whenever necessary) in terms of our little daughter's upbringing.
My father and husband have instilled the belief in me that I can be and must be financially independent. I have not restricted my entrepreneurial passion to Lifestyle Pitaraa alone. I have started a small jewellery business too after my marriage and incidentally I am an IRDA certified financial advisor too.
What is your vision going forward? Do you want to work with rural artisans and create job opportunities later or do you want to operate as a individual family run business set up?
I get bored very easily if I continue selling the same things for long and therefore my vision is to strive to keep coming up with fresh designs and concepts in terms of products.
