Family vacations are fun, but packing definitely is not, especially for youngsters. So, it is always a good idea to write down the plans and ponder over them. In case you are planning to visit the sea, this beach packing list may come in handy.
Choose your beach bag: There is a wide variety in travel bags, so picking the right one for your beach vacation will depend on your personal tastes, the amount of stuff you need to carry, and whether you prefer checked luggage or a carry-on backpack. Since you will be spending a lot of time at the beach, it is not practical to bring along a huge suitcase. Instead, go for a backpack.
What you put in your beach bag matters. Look for containers made of nylon or mesh. If you do not want to lose your beach bag in the shuffle, go with a bright colour or fun pattern.
If you are planning on bringing more than just your main suitcase on your trip, consider packing some bags that are not strictly necessary but would be nice to have.
Fanny packs: These are convenient for storing essentials like credit cards, cash and cellphones. There is a wide array of fanny packs to choose from. Bum bags can also be used.
To carry your wet, salty and chlorinated swimwear back home, you should have a swimwear bag. These packing cubes are made of nylon fabric or watertight material.
Bring your favourite chips and snacks to the beach in a roomy tote. Transform your waterproof backpack into a handy shoulder bag for the beach or pool.
Packing list: You can either print off one of the many detailed checklists for a trip to the beach that can be found online, or you can make your own list according to your family’s needs. It is the easiest to make a beach packing list by category, such as clothing, electronics, paperwork, health and first aid supplies, family travel games, and so on. Time is saved and no basics are forgotten, which is especially helpful when preparing for children.
Pack your beachwear neatly:Make a note of everything you will need for the beach, then fold and lay out your clothes to pack them neatly. In order to find lost or duplicate items, it is helpful to organise them. Make sure you have everything you need for the beach when you have finished packing.
Rather than folding your garments in a linear fashion, try interfolding or rolling them up. However, any method of packing will do as long as it helps you maintain order and convenience.
Put your toiletries and accessories in a separate bag so that you do not have to dig through your main luggage to find them. Protect against spills by placing bottles in a plastic bag or zip locking them up. Cut down on bulk and leakage by switching to soap instead of body wash.
Make use of packing cubes to organise your beach gear, accessories and other little items. These nifty cubes are not brand new, but they make packing simpler and more organised.
It is helpful to keep your belongings close at hand so that you can keep your vacation plans in order. Create a separate list for necessary items.
Make sure you have everything on your beach packing list before proceeding. Get your travel paperwork in order ahead of time to avoid hassles.
‘Sand-free’ items: Beach vacations leave sand in damp garments. Use sand-resistant towels, blankets, backpacks, and waterproof or cased phones, cameras, etc.Ice cream and food stains require disposable wipes at the beach. Bring plastic bags for beach snacks and swimwear.
Leave hotel or beach towels at home. Avoid overpacking to save space.Hiking requires lightweight clothing and shoes.Check your daily schedule for what you will need.
Guide for kids: Make a checklist of fundamental and important travel items you will need for a family beach vacation, from your own necessities to the necessities of your children.
Going to the beach is a relaxing and carefree activity. Include some jackets, pants, tops, underwear, floral dresses or skirts, track pants, durable shoes and an umbrella as well in case it rains. If you are taking your kids along with you, then bring appropriate clothes such as T-shirts, shorts, skirts, pants, jackets, socks, pyjamas, and sturdy shoes, and diapers specially designed for use in pools. Opt for bodysuits if you want your kid to have some variation in outfit.
Cleaning products for kids’ hair and body, lotion, medicated cream for wounds, kids’ sunscreen, hairbrush specifically designed for children, swabs, cutters, files and pliers are all necessary items. Laundry bags, toilet paper roll, milk, tissues, thermoflask, mat, towel for swaddling or transporting, and a sleeping bag or portable bed, may also be carried.
Things that adults may need:Make sure you pick shampoos, shower gel, lotion, toothbrush, toothpaste, wet cap, comb, clips, towels, perfume, etc., while going out. Women must bring their hygiene products without fail.
Do not leave home without the necessities unless you want to spend the day in the shade and have your legs bitten by sand flies. You must note that sunscreens that can harm corals are banned at several beaches. Select sunscreens free of oxybenzone and octinoxate to avoid damaging coral reefs.
And when you are travelling to beach, you must not forget swimsuit, beach towel, sunglasses, and sunhat. Some other essentials include water bottles, mobile ice chests, and bottle opener.
Recreational items:These include cellphones, headphones, camera or action camera, adapters, power banks and other power sources, e-books, and some speakers if you want to play music.
