Kerala: In today's episode of animals going viral on the internet, photographs of a cute pug in Kerala wearing a traditional Malayali outfit have gone viral among social media users.

The pug is seen wearing a traditional Kasava mundu and a pink shirt. The photos were initially shared on Facebook by the pet owner with the caption, "If anyone's looking for a handsome Malayali boy to get your beautiful daughter married off to... ;)" One of the photos shows the dog standing and the other shows him sitting before a Sadya, consisting of a variety of traditional vegetarian dishes served on a banana leaf in Kerala.

The photos were then shared on Twitter where they have since gone viral. The user while sharing the photos wrote, "Tbh (to be honest) only reason I'm still on Facebook is for Indian dog parents groups! So EXTRA. Never disappoints."

Twitterverse has turned matchmaker, with many tagging their friends who have dogs. One Twitter user commented with a photo of her female pug below the post. Another Twitter user commented, "this made my day!"

This is not the first instance of animals being involved in their pets in human activities and rituals.

A video of a baby shower of a dog named Lucy had gone viral on social media last month. The doggo was dressed up in a green frock and made to sit on a swing where the women of the family performed aarti before her.

Last year, a video of a puppy getting a traditional welcome to its home went viral on social media. The pup's paws were dipped in the red Alta Dye and the impressions were taken on a white sheet. Tika was applied on the puppy's forehead and flower petals were showered. After performing aarti, prasad was offered to the puppy.

This incident shows how integral the tradition of marriage is to the cultural fabric of India.
