FINER welcomes new digital payment system E Rupi

GUWAHATI: Congratulating the Prime Minister Narendra Modi for this revolutionary initiative which will go long way to ensure a leak-proof delivery of welfare services launched by the Government of India FINER president Pabitra Buragohain said that E Rupi is testimony as how India is moving forward and technology is playing key role in connecting people far and wide.

Hailing the E Rupi as a game changer as it will play a major role in strengthening the process of direct benefit transfer, he further said FINER particularly appreciates how Prime Minister's forward looking vision on innovations, use of technology in service delivery is giving India a chance to give global leadership along with big countries of the world.

E Rupi is developed by the National Payments Corporation of India on its UPI platform, in collaboration with the Department of Financial Services, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare and National Health Authority.

The users of this seamless one-time payment mechanism will be able to redeem the voucher without a card, digital payments app or internet banking access, at the service provider.

Even the private sector can leverage these digital vouchers as part of their employee welfare and corporate social responsibility programmes, stated a press release.
