Lok Sabha passes Supplementary Demands for Grants for 2018-19

New Delhi: The second batch of Supplementary Demands for Grants for 2018-19 for gross additional expenditure of Rs 85,948.86 crore, which includes Rs 41,000 crore for recap of the Public Sector Banks (PSBs), was passed by voice vote in the Lok Sabha on Monday amid din.

The supplementary demand was tabled by Finance Minister Arun Jaitley on December 20 seeking Parliament’s approval for additional expenditure of Rs 85,948.86 crore.

Responding to a debate over it, Jaitley said the Modi government had enabled connecting villages by building roads and ensured that there wasn’t any villages left where there is no electricity. (IANS)
