Silicon Valley: A lot of rumours have been circulating of late as to what changes Elon Musk will bring about in social media giant, Twitter.

Ever since the Tesla CEO took over the microblogging site, speculations had it that he is planning to monetize the company and it is believed that he had been planning to make this move for a long time.

The World's wealthiest man has now publicly confirmed how some users would be charged. However, these charges will not be applicable to each and every user and in a major relief, the casual users will be exempted from charges for accessing the microblogging service. Musk only plans to charge commercial and government Twitter users.

"Ultimately, the downfall of the Freemasons was giving away their stonecutting services for nothing," Elon tweeted.

"Twitter will always be free for casual users, but maybe a slight cost for commercial/government users." he wrote in another tweet.

The Tesla CEO was always of the view that Twitter has a bright and promising future and the billionaire said that he aspires to improve the company for its own good.

Besides this, he also proposed a few modifications to the app via a separate tweet.

"We need to get rid of bots, spam, and scams. Is it really public opinion, or is it simply someone with a hundred thousand fake accounts? You can't tell right now. Algorithms must be open source, with any human interaction clearly marked. Then only trust be deserved," Musk tweeted.
