GUWAHATI: Doyen of Indian business & industry and philanthropist late GD Birla with the blessings of Mahatma Gandhi founded a bank with indigenous capital on January 6, 1943. The bank, now known as UCO Bank celebrated its 78th years of dedicated service to the nation. Zonal Office, Guwahati celebrated the occasion with activities under its Corporate Social Responsibility. Across the country the Foundation Day was celebrated with taking oath of the Mission and Vision of the Bank. AK Machary, Zonal Manager, Zonal Office, Guwahati led the zone in celebrating the Day. Addressing the colleagues, he underlined the need for dedicated customer service and outreach to the masses. The channel partners, customers and well-wishers greeted the bank on the occasion, stated a press release.
