GUWAHATI: Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) in association with the Government of Assam and Tea Board of India is organizing the first of its kind virtual tea conclave that would have digital conferences, exhibition of different varieties of tea and products related to tea industry and will have buyer-seller meet. The inauguration of the tea conclave will be done by Transport Minister Chandra Mohan Patowary in presence of Commissioner and Secretary of Industries and Commerce Dr KK Dwivedi on October 7 over CII virtual platform.
CII in the past has organized 7 tea conclaves - 5 in Siliguri and 2 in Guwahati. Because of COVID-19 pandemic this tea conclave is a virtual one and has virtual stalls similar to regular exhibitions. Producers and manufacturers will be able to display their products in the stalls. Buyers and tea connoisseurs can visit the stalls. During this pandemic, this exclusive virtual platform for tea will open up the horizon of business linkages, both nationally and internationally, stated a press release.
