Krishna Janmashtami was celebrated across India sans the usual pomp and gaiety owing to the pandemic.
This year holds a special place in my heart and I owe it to the organizers of the Iskon temple situated at Ulubari. They conducted many competitions for children of various age groups ranging from 5 to 14 years for a period of 4 days. Themes were Vedic word game, quiz, sloka recitation, drawing competition, mime shows etc to name a few. The virtual competition via zoom was a pleasant wonder for many parents like me that have even enabled me to connect to Lord Krishna's life and his teachings and gave me a chance as well to learn some Slokas which are in Sanskrit. Hope to see more shows like this one in the near future.
