Letter to PWD Minister regarding connectivity

Sir, it is well known to you that Lakhimpur College of Veterinary Science is the second veterinary college of Assam and eastern-most veterinary college of India. After a prolonged struggle and up and down, the college has got its permanent set up at a remote area like Joyhing, North Lakhimpur. Apart from creating human resources, the ultimate aim of establishment of the college in such a remote area like Joyhing was for socio-economic development of the entire Lakhimpur and Dhemaji district by carrying out various research activities for promoting the livestock sector. But due to deplorable condition of the road connectivity from the college campus to the Lakhimpur town, the students, faculty members and the employees of the college have been suffering a lot, as it takes more than one hour to cover the distance of only 12 km. As it is a technical institute and to carry out various types of research works-cum-extension activities by organizing different types of seminar, workshop etc to expose with the modern scientific development in agricultural and livestock sector, poor road connectivity is become a main hindrance behind this. It has also set up a modern veterinary hospital in the name of Veterinary Clinical Complex to treat the diseased animals suffering from various complicated diseases with the modern diagnostic tools like Ultrasonography, X-ray, ECG etc., along with the facility of animal operation theatre to carry out various surgical operation for treatment of various diseases. But the poor connectivity of road to the campus is become a barrier to get the ultimate goal, as most of the patients suffer a lot during their transportation from Lakhimpur town to College campus and there are many more history of animal death due to transportation through this dilapidated road. If the road connectivity is improved to the area, it will hasten not only the development of the college and its surrounding area, but also improve the boarder business with Arunachal Pradesh situated very near to this area. Till now, neither local administration nor any representative of people have shown keen interest to repair the road even after too many approaches from the local people. Tthrough this esteem daily it is my earnest request to you that your endeavour will boost up the repairing of this important road for the greater interest of this institute of North Bank.
