Stoic silence

There has been widespread encroachment and vandalism of xatra and temple properties reported across the state by a certain people belonging to a linguistic religious minority. The government which came to power promising 'jati, mati, bheti' has failed in giving proper response to these criminal activities. Merely shouting in talk shows by the spokespersons of the ruling party is not enough. Recently, auspicious belongings of a xatra in Barpeta district were burnt down by a person of religious minority community. Xatras are considered to be heart and soul of our Assamese culture and it was expected that out of hundred jatiyo sanghathans, the AASU, AJYCP, the KMSS to protest vehemently by hitting the streets. Generally jumping on the streets is the modus operandi of these jatiyo sanghathans but this time all of them preferred to maintain a deafening silence on the matter. It was also observed that some news channels tried to project that criminal as mentally unstable. It seems everyone is out there to hide the incident.
