As political heat is increasing with each passing day and every party is trying to woo voters with their respective agendas or manifestos, it is time, we as voters, introspect our choice of candidates.
The manifestos as detailed out during election campaigns and the results thereof at the end of the tenure should give us a foresight into our coming future as to where we are heading for.
Departments failing to submit UCs (utilization certificates) along with pensioners having a tough time getting their legitimate dues etc., are some aspects. Those whom we vote to power must be very target oriented and deliver the deliverables as expected of them.
Our politicians become very rich during their tenure of five years and sometimes it is disproportionate to their known sources of income. Maybe, the tenure of an election term should be brought down to 2 or 3 years and a core independent group to monitor the status of works should be formed.
That way, our country can be on a fast-track mode to reach the tag of a developed nation.
