The recent tug of war for the gaddi makes a common man like me wonder what makes one stuck to the gaddi. They are voted to power to serve the aam aadmi but after coming to power, we remain aam and they become our political masters.

Maybe, the glamour attached to the gaddi with a convoy of cars, security personnel, spacious bungalow with a work force to cater to all the needs makes them stuck to their gaddis.

The older generation has both experience and maturity. But the younger generation can do much better, if they are given the chance as they can bring vitality and dynamism to the task assigned.

Time is changing and the olds have to make way for the newbie. They say, "The child is father of the man." Only the desire and the thirst to work for the people will make the person see and think beyond the gaddi. Even in the family when a son is getting married, the mother feels insecure as her place seems to be taken over by the bahu whilst the son finds himself sandwiched between the mother and the wife. But slowly, it settles down.
