MUMBAI: The latest romantic drama Gehraiyaan has been receiving mixed reviews since its release in Amazon Prime Video on 11 February.

Rao mentioned that he started watching Gehraiyaan but later after 20 minutes he stopped the film out of his dislike because of the indignity.

He said that he is a fan of Deepika, the Bengaluru girl but the film is disappointing to him as it portrays really wrong message with the extramarital and destruction of the home concept.

At the end of his tweet, the former police commissioner questioned that 'Am I old fashion.' According to the ADGP, Gehraiyaan sends a bad message to millions of fans and citizens watching the film.

Criticizing the actress for her role, Rao expresses his dislike over Deepika for such a depiction of extramarital affairs, insecurity, cheating and other challenging ideas.

The film directed by Shakun Batra starring Siddhant Chaturvedi, Deepika Padukone, Ananya Pandey and Dhairya Karwa shows two couples getting lost in different paths and cheating their partner.

In the film, Deepika appears to be in relation with Dhairya but their bond sees a turning point with the entry of Siddhant who is already in a romantic relationship with Ananya playing as Deepika's cousin. Deepika and Siddhant decide just to go with the flow without realizing the actual truth.

The film though criticized by many for its lack of humour but there are also reviews that show people are loving it and the performances by Deepika in the film.
