New Delhi: Indian stand-up comedian, Kapil Sharma is known widely across the country for his outstanding contribution to comedy shows. The comedian has successfully earned a lot of fame after the start of his career with television comedy shows and became a well-known personality in the television industry.

Apart from being a comedian, Sharma is also recognized as an actor, producer and television presenter. The actor-comedian with his ability to make people laugh came into focus in a very short period of time.

Kapil Sharma was born on 2 April 1981 in Amritsar, Punjab. Sharma has done his schooling in Shri Ram Ashram Senior Secondary school and completed his studies in Amritsar and Hindu college, later went to Apeejay College of Fine Arts, Jalandhar for further studies.

Kapil's father, Jeetendra Kumar Punj was a head constable in Punjab Police who died in 2004 after suffering from cancer and his mother Janak Rani is a housewife. Kapil has two siblings named Pooja Pawan Devgan and Ashok Kumar Sharma.

The 40 years old comedian married his girlfriend Ginni Chatrath in December 2018. The couple has two children first child daughter born in 2019 named Anayra Sharma and another child son born in the year 2021 named Trishaan Sharma.

Kapil Sharma lives in Sardar Vallabbhai Patel Nagar area of Versova, Mumbai along with his family. Sharma lives a wealthy lifestyle with a net worth of Rupees 300 crore (40 million dollars). The comedian earns 90 lakhs to 1 crore through one show. The net worth of Kapil keeps increasing by 15 percent each year. Kapil is the owner of two Mercedes Benz S Class of Rupees 80 lakhs and Mercedes Benz C Class of Rupees 50 Lakhs. Kapil has great achievements throughout his career as a comedian which let him earn numerous reputed awards. Sharma won the CNN-IBN Indian of the Year in the category of entertainment in 2013. In the year 2015, Kapil was ranked the 3rd position in the award list of Most Admired Indian Personality by The Economic Times.

In the year 2016, Kapil Sharma was rated as the most popular Indian television personality by Ormax Media. The comedian was also ranked 11th by Forbes India in their Celebrity 100 list of 2016 and again in the year 2017, he was ranked 18th by Forbes in the same category. Kapil won India Television Academy Awards in the year 2012 in the category of Best actor comedy.
