Randeep Hooda’s Veer Savarkar Tweet Controversy: Subhas Chandra Bose’s family reacts

MUMBAI: The teaser for Randeep Hooda's directorial debut, Swatantrya Veer Savarkar, was released on May 29, which also happened to be Vinayak Damodar Savarkar's birth anniversary. Vinayak Damodar Savarkar is a controversial character because of his revolutionary efforts.

Few netizens, however, have criticized Hooda's promotional tweet and the teaser's content for a particular assertion.

Sharing the teaser, Actor Randeep Hooda tweeted, “The most wanted Indian by the British. The inspiration behind revolutionaries like - Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose, Bhagat Singh & Khudiram Bose.

Who was #VeerSavarkar? Watch his true story unfold!

Presenting @RandeepHooda in & as #SwantantryaVeerSavarkar In Cinemas 2023.”

According to a report, the teaser identifies Veer Savarkar as "the most feared revolutionary" and "the man who inspired Bhagat Singh, Subhash Chandra Bose, and Khudiram Bose."

He now faces criticism for saying that Netaji was his inspiration. Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose's grandnephew Chandra Kumar Bose has harshly denounced it. He has said that Randeep Hooda's assertion was a promotional gimmick because his movie will soon be released.

According to report, the Academic Council (AC) meeting on Friday resulted in recent revisions to the BA Political Science course syllabus at Delhi University, including the addition of a chapter on Hindu nationalist hero Veer Savarkar as an elective for the fifth semester.

The current chapter on Mahatma Gandhi's contributions to India's freedom struggle has been moved to the seventh semester as a result of this alteration, which is noteworthy.

The V-C advised the head of the economics department at the Delhi School of Economics to write a paper on the economic ideas of BR Ambedkar and suggested that the Academic Counselor look at ways to teach more about Ambedkar. He also suggested that they instruct students more about the Indian economic model, the US model, and the European model.
