Kanika Kapoor who recovered from COVID-19 to donate plasma if doctors declare her fit

NEW DELHI: Singer Kanika Kapoor who recovered from COVID-19 might donate plasma if doctors declare her fit. Doctors from King George Medical (KGMU), Lucknow will visit her and examine her for this purpose.

Plasma therapy has shown good results in some cases.

Delhi Health Minister Satyendra Jain while speaking to reporters said, “We have administered plasma therapy to six patients in Delhi, so far. Four of them were given the therapy four days back.”

“Those who were administered 4 days back have almost recovered. All of them were critical patients and results are very encouraging,” he added.

Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Friday said that the plasma therapy used on four coronavirus patients in the city were showing positive results.

“Two patients were given plasma on Tuesday, while two were given the therapy on Thursday. The two patients who received plasma on Tuesday have shown improvement,” Kejriwal told the media her.

Kapoor was discharged from hospital on April 6.

A case had been registered against the singer, last month, for hiding her travel history and attending lavish parties after returning from London on March 9. She was charged under IPC Section 269 (negligent act likely to spread infection of disease dangerous to life) and Section 270 (malignant act likely to spread infection of disease dangerous to life).

Earlier, Kanika Kapoor confirmed that she had been infected with the novel coronavirus through an Instagram post which was later deleted.

She had written, “I was scanned at the airport as per normal procedure when I came back home. The symptoms have developed only four days ago. I am feeling OK.”
