Mumbai: Filmmaker Karan Johar has quashed all the rumors relating to the return of his talk show Koffee with Karan by announcing with a heavy heart that the show will not make a comeback.
He took to his official Twitter handle to inform that Koffee with Karan season 7 will not make its return.
"Hello, Koffee With Karan has been a part of my life, and yours, for 6 seasons now. I'd like to think we've made an impact and even found our place in pop culture history. And so, it is with a heavy heart that I announce that Koffee With Karan will not be returning.. Karan Johar," he tweeted.
The announcement clearly did not go down well with the fans of the show as they were eagerly waiting for the return of its new season. Many fans have been left heartbroken with some even urging the host to return with season 7 of Koffee with Karan.
Some die-heart fans of the show have been quite vocal about it with comments urging Karan to go ahead with next season flooding in.
One wrote, "No Karan...you can't do this!!" Another one commented, "But why?? It was an excellent show." Another comment reads, "Ohh noo I was waiting for the next season." "That's really sad !! KWK was and will always be an iconic guilty pleasure for many," commented another.
Earlier, rumours had it that the show will soon return with its new season and newlyweds Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor will be the first guests. However, the rumours have now been laid to rest following the announcement.
Meanwhile, Koffee With Karan was first aired on 19 November 2004 and it happened to be the second-longest-running talk show The show concluded its sixth and final season on 17 March 2019.
Several prominent celebrities had graced the show and it included the likes of Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Aamir Khan, Akshay Kumar, Amitabh Bachchan, Ranbir Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor, Priyanka Chopra, Alia Bhatt and many others.
