Mumbai: Rapper Raftaar and his wife Komal Vohra who tied the knot 6 years ago have decided to part ways after living separately for a while.

The couple had reportedly filed for a divorce in 2020 but the proceedings came to a standstill owing to the Covid-19 pandemic.

The couple had dated each other for 5 years before getting married and they had a lavish yet private wedding function in 2016.

As per reports, both of them have already moved on with their respective lives while their families still maintain a cordial relationship with each other.

However, the duo is yet to release an official statement regarding their separation.

Notably, Komal and Raftaar had met through common friends, after which, they fell for each other. Komal was with Raftaar whose real name is Dilin Nair, way before he became a famous rapper.

The couple rubbed shoulders at their friend's residence in 2011 and it was perhaps love at first sight for them. It happened to be the time when Raftaar was in his struggling days and Komal stood by him through thick and thin.

It is to be noted that Raftar's parents liked Komal a lot when they met for the first time and it was smooth sailing after that.

They organized a small engagement ceremony in The Taj, New Delhi, in November 2016, followed by a wedding in December 2016.

They had 4 ceremonies which included Sangeet night, Satsang, Mehendi and Dhol night, and their marriage day. The rapper also sang songs dedicating them to his wife.

It was an intimate event with only family members and very close friends attending the ceremony.

Meanwhile, Raftaar had also posted on his Instagram that he had married his "soulmate", back in 2016. The rapper had always been outspoken about how Komal is a supportive partner.

However, the couple has now unfollowed each other on social media and they have also deleted the pictures of their wedding.

The couple will sign the divorce papers on October 6.
