Series On Phoolan Devi Announced

Bobby Bedi producer of Bandit Queen announced he would be producing a series on the life of Phoolan Devi. The series would extend beyond the film to include her life in jail and thereafter. He said she was in her twenties when she surrendered. After she was released she fought and won two elections and served as an MP besides continuing to fight against innumerable prejudices including caste and gender discrimination. Tannishhta Chatterjee who will be playing the role of Phoolan Devi was also present and said, “It would be a challenge to play the role so closely associated with Seema Biswas.”
