With the release of the web series 'The Railway Men,' the Yash Raj Films (YRF) has announced its first big project on Over-the-top (OTT) platform under YRF Entertainment.
The Railway Men is directed by debutant director Shiv Rawail who has been trained by MD Aditya Chopra and the Chairman of Yash Raj Films.
'The Railway Men' will stream on the OTT platform from Thursday 2 December marking the 37th anniversary of the Bhopal Gas Tragedy which was the worst industrial catastrophe that happened on 2 December 1984. It will be available to watch on Netflix and fuboTV.
The series is based on the true story of the 1984 Bhopal Gas Tragedy that led to the death of thousands including huge destruction in the industrial sector of India. This web series pays homage to the fighter of the shocking gas leaked incident and salutes to those railway workers at the Bhopal station who remained as the unknown and unsung heroes of the 1984 Bhopal Gas Tragedy.
The Railway Men cast popular OTT stars including Special Ops star Kay Kay Menon, Breathe star R Madhavan, new talent Babli Khan and Divyendu Sharma from Mirzapur in lead roles.
The series will be reportedly completed in one season showing the strength of the human spirit at the time of such a big industrial disaster that occurred 37 years ago. It will bring into light all those sacrifices by railway workers who were affected by the crisis that shook the entire country in the year 1984.
On the night of 2 December 1984 from a pesticide factory of American Union Carbide Corporation, methyl isocyanate gas got leaked which resulted in the poisoning of half a million people including a death toll of 5000.
