Florida: A leading doctor from Florida, Dr Gregory Michael died several days after receiving a shot of Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine. However, it is not yet clear if his death is related to vaccine jab that he received on December 18.
A 56-year-old obstetrician died after suffering from a hemorrhagic stroke, which resulted in a lack of platelets. The Florida Department of Health said in a statement that the medical examiners of Miami are investigating his death.
His wife, Heidi Neckelmann thinks that the Pfizer-BioNtech vaccine may have been the trigger for her husband's death. She claimed that her husband was in good health, and nothing was wrong with him.
On the other hand, the vaccine maker Pfizer said that they are aware of the unusual death of Dr Michael, and are investigating the case.
Dr Michael did not suffer any immediate reaction to the vaccine shot, however, three days later of taking the vaccine shot, red spots beneath his skin could be noticed. When he checked himself at Mount Sinai Medical Center in Miami Beach, it was found out that Dr Michael was suffering from an acute lack of platelets. The results for platelets came as zero. The doctors did the test again manually, where it showed just one platelet.
Although Dr Michael was feeling energetic, the doctors kept him at the hospital, saying that it is dangerous and Dr Michael could suffer a brain bleed and die. Dr Michael's wife said that the doctors tried to reverse the acute immune disorder - idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura (ITP).
ITP can be acute or chronic. Adults can get ITP because of HIV, hepatitis or H. pylori, a type of bacteria that causes stomach ulcers. However, Heidi said that his husband did not have any of these illnesses.
However, the investigation about how Dr Michael died is still on. It is not yet sure if he died due to the vaccine jab.
