Guwahati: Beer lovers across the world were left in shock and dismay after a report claiming that Budweiser employees have been peeing into tanks for several years surfaced on the internet. Very soon, the news was widely shared on Twitter, and meme artists, taking advantage of the situation, started bombarding social media with memes related to this new development.
Although these funny memes and jokes served as entertainment for the teetotalers and consumers of brands other than Budweiser, the company's customers probably were running to their bathrooms to puke into their basins as soon as they got to know about this.
How did it all begin?
So, this report was first published on a satire website: foolishhumour.com, which posted an article with the headline "Budweiser employee acknowledges having been pissing into beer tanks for several years."
The article quotes an employee called Walter Powell (name changed), who claims that this happens in the Budweiser Brewery Experience in Fort Collins, Colorado (United States). He claims that since there are 750 workers in the company, it is difficult to keep tabs on them all.
At the very bottom of the webpage, there is a disclaimer that reads, "This website is a humorous page whose sole purpose is entertainment. This content of Foolish Humour is fiction and does not correspond to reality."
Consequently, the satire piece was re-drafted, made to look authentic, and posted on another site and eventually went viral on social media. This news, as expected, made the Budweiser fans, who believed they could have possibly drunk urine, beat their chests in dismay and pluck their eyebrows in disgust.
So yes, the news about Budweiser employees pissing into beer barrels is completely fake and fans of the brand can now go back to drinking Budweiser with any apprehensions whatsoever!
