India Asks Canada to Take Action on Khalistan Extremists Targeting Indian Diplomats

NEW DELHI: India has asked Canada to take urgent action against the so-called Khalistan extremists who are reported to be planning to march in protest to Indian embassies in Toronto and Vancouver following efforts to put the blame on Indian diplomats as well as security agencies for the death of designated terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar.

An inter-gang battle on June 19 in Sikh dominated Surrey town in Vancouver resulted in the killing of the 45-year-old Khalistan Tiger Force (KTF) chief. Nijjar was said to be linked to the banned outfit Sikhs for Justice (SFJ), which is based in the US.

The Indian High Commission is expected to demarche the Justin Trudeau government after the weekend holiday on Monday. It is expected to ask the Federal Government to act against Khalistan extremists for naming Indian diplomats and threatening them.

It has become apparent that a poster for the protest rally in Toronto on July 8 includes the names of Indian High Commissioner Saurav Kumar Sharma and Counsellor Apurva Srivastava with their photos, while the posters of a rally in Vancouver scheduled for the same time has the name of the High Commissioner and Consul General Vancouver Manish.

The Khalistani extremists have the gall to have the phone numbers of the organizers of protest rally printed on the posters, along with photos of Indian diplomats who are their targets.

An official connected with the matter said that as the identities of the people threatening the Indian diplomats is known, the Canadian government has no excuses not to take action this time or to dismiss this threat as a legitimate democratic right of the protestors, as it has done in the past.

It has also come to be known that the Royal Canadian Mounted Police are already in contact with the Indian High Commission in Toronto and Vancouver and they have decided to provide personal security to the threatened Indian diplomats, including the High Commissioner and the Counsel General.

Although New Delhi has been raising the threat of these Khalistanis with the Indian expatriates within the Justin Trudeau government, there has been no action from the latter against these extremists as the Sikh separatists comprise a vote bank for the present government. These extremists have almost been given a free pass by the Trudeau regime, and they are engaged in defacing Indian temples and making the Indian non-Sikh community a target.

It is known that the Vancouver protest rally will start from the Guru Nanak Sikh Gurudwara, which is under the control of Nijjar and his henchmen, and will end at the Indian Consulate in Vancouver. At the same time, the Toronto protest rally is slated to start from Malton and then make its way to the Indian High Commission in Toronto.

Indian diplomats are under more pressure as the Sikhs for Justice (SFJ) has announced on social media that “kill India” rallies will be organized in eight countries on the very same day. SFJ is known as a US-based secessionist group that supports the formation of Khalistan after secession of Punjab from India.
