Interpol warns its member countries on organised crime against COVID19 vaccines, issues global alert

Lyon (France): Several nations around the world have geared up to vaccinate their citizens against the deadly coronavirus. Almost all the nations are trying to invent a vaccine that fully cures the patient of the deadly virus.

Interpol has issued a global alert for law enforcement across its member countries, warning them to prepare themselves against the crime networks targeting the vaccines for COVID-19. They have asked the countries to prepare themselves both physically and online.

The Interpol or the International Criminal Police Organization, an inter-governmental organisation for 194 member countries, help the police to work together and make the world a safer place to live. Interpol shares data, and also lets the member countries to access data on crimes and criminals, and we offer a range of technical and operational support.

The Secretary-General of Interpol, Jurgen Stock said that as the government of various countries are about to roll out the vaccines, various criminal organisations have planned to infiltrate the supply chain. He also said that these criminals will be targetting the unsuspecting members of the public through fake websites or false cures. This will further risk the health of the public.

Interpol has issued the global warning so that law enforcement is as prepared as possible, which will be an onslaught of all types of criminal activity linked with COVID-19 vaccine. Interpol has also asked the public to be extra careful while buying medicines or medical equipment online.

The United Kingdom became the first country in the world on Wednesday to authorise the use of Pfizer-BioNTech for emergency use. The vaccines of Pfizer-BioNTech will be delivered from the next week. Health Minister of Russia, Mikhail Murashko said that Sputnik V vaccines have been inoculated to more than 100,000 people in Russia.
