WASHINGTON: The Pentagon released the first official photos and video clips on Wednesday of the daring two-hour raid of the US forces that killed ISIS leader Abu Bakr al- Baghdadi on Saturday.

One of the clip shows Delta Force commandos approaching the walls of the compound in which Islamic State leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi along with others, was found.

In another video, the forces were seen air striking on other militants who fired at helicopters carrying soldiers to the compound.

After the soldiers completed the mission, the compound was also bombed, so that it would not stand as a shrine to Baghdadi.

Head of US Central Command, General Frank McKenzie, said Baghdadi’s remains were buried at a sea within 24 hours of his death in an underground tunnel where is hid when special forces closed in on him.

According to McKenzie, the attacking troop operated from an undisclosed location inside Syria for the one-hour helicopter ride to the compound.

He also revealed that, during the operation, the terror leader crawled inside a tunnel along with two children, who died with al-Baghdadi when he detonated a bomb vest.

Although initial reports said there were three children, later inquiry showed there were two, both of them under 12 years of age.

McKenzie said the US was sure that it had destroyed Isis, but warned, the group would try to take revenge.

He said, “They will be dangerous. We suspect they will try some form of retribution attack.” “We don’t see a bloodless future because unfortunately, this ideology is going to be out there.”
