Russia's Friend Belarus To Join Russian Invasion of Ukraine: Reports

New Delhi: Amid the ongoing war between Russia and Ukraine, Belarus is preparing to join in on Russia's invasion of Ukraine as soon as Monday.

According to reports, the President of Belarus has issued a World War III warning and Russian troops are using the Belarus's soil for attacking Ukraine using their tanks and weapons which are already stationed in Belarus.

Interestingly, Belarus has amended its constitution to allow for the deployment of 'nuclear weapons' in its country.

As per the official report released by the Ukrainian State Security Service, it has been revealed that a rocket attack on Ukraine's Zhytomyr airport has been carried out from Belarus, which is just 93 miles from the capital Kyiv.

At the same time, several reports quoted military sources as saying that Belarusian Special Forces were seen loading ammunition on airplanes to prepare for air strikes on Kyiv and there is now a fear that the war may extend.

Ukrainian intelligence agencies have reportedly learned that from Belarus soldiers have been seen preparing planes for a major attack.

"It is very clear [Belarus' capital] Minsk is now an extension of the Kremlin," a US official told the Washington Post, speaking on condition of anonymity.

The US official, however, did not give any indication of how many soldiers were missing and where they would be deployed. Indeed, the Russian military has faced strong resistance from the defenders of Ukraine, and US officials say that the attack is not succeeding as Russia had planned, so it is now time to turn the war in its favour. Following this, Russia can change its strategy.

Notably, there is a very close friendship between Belarus and Russia and both the countries share. The president of the both countries have a very close friendship and it is believed that Belarus always follows Russia orders and in this war also Belarus allowed Russian troops to attack Ukraine from their country.

Meanwhile, there is also a possibility that, if Belarus engages its soldiers in the war, then the third world war looks inevitable.
