UTTSAV is an enterprise co-founded by Sweety Agarwal and Neha Agarwal that organises exhibitions (mainly during the flagship festive seasons like Holi, Diwali etc) through which upcoming business entrepreneurs can exhibit and sell their products. These exhibitions are held in key venues across the city.

How, when and why did you start UTTSAV?

UTTSAV envisages giving a platform to the upcoming entrepreneurs to come forward and showcase their talent. UTTSAV means celebration and our hashtag also represents this overriding essence of celebration through the tagline-We create you celebrate.

One day I was casually talking to my father's cousin sister (Neha Agarwal) about organising a platform where new entrepreneurs can showcase their products and services, network and connect to their target customers. My sister in law instantly endorsed my plan and assured me that together we shall formally conceive such a platform. Thus UTTSAV was born. Our first show was hosted on 8th October 2018.

What have been some of your experiences while organising exhibitions?

Actually every time that we organise an exhibition we are faced with a different set of challenges that we eventually overcome by exploring innovative ideas/solutions. These ideas come through discussions with our clients. So the learnings are immense and continous.

What is the criterion through which the entrepreneurs can be part of your exhibitions ?

There is no set criterion. It is only and all about the passion with which one wants to grow, explore and evolve.

Tell us something about yourself? Essentially your family background education and upbringing.

My sister in law Neha Agarwal and myself always wanted to explore new ideas in terms of business opportunities. We both have a passion for shopping and collecting new fashion ideas by observing trends in the market. Through UTTSAV, we wanted to lend a new vision and fillip to shopping through exhibitions from vendors outside of Guwahati too. We are always scouting for different products in our exhibitions.

Academically we are both from a commerce background. Neha has completed her studies from Delhi and I have completed mine from Rangapara. We both hail from joint families but since childhood we had the liberty of living life in our own terms (without hurting anyone).

Who has been your biggest inspiration or mentor in your entrepreneurial journey?

We both draw inspiration from our respective fathers. Both our fathers wanted us to be financially independent and successful entrepreneurs. While my father is no longer there today I believe that he is happy in his eternal realm seeing me achieve what I had set out to.

What have been your biggest achievement with UTTSAV and what is your vision and future plans?

The biggest achievement is the name and fame that we earned through this platform. We keep on meeting with new vendors every season. We eventually have become more confident and nuanced in judging people too. Our vision is to make UTSAV a grand success but without compromising on the reputation and goodwill. We always choose honest people to liase with.

Lastly tell us about your role as the city coordinator of Wommaniaas

My role as a city head in Wommaniaas in Guwahati is to look after all the members, coordinate with them and sort out their queries. Connecting members to more and more people so that they can grow their business prospects is also my prerogative.
