After being confined to our homes for almost two years due to the pandemic, our closets remained closed as we embraced lounge-wears as our work from home outfits. With the recent improvement of the situation, we are now able to indulge in the new trends of the season. During the pandemic, we developed an appetite for content brewed up by influencers and got a hang of following them for wardrobe tips rather than red carpets.

Like seasons, trends keep changing and coming back full circle. We have witnessed a flattering return of high-rise boot cut pants, stripes and cowboy hats, while playing around with fresh and trendy pastels, tie-dyes, et al.

Let's break down the trends that have swept away 2022:

Mixing it up: Bright tones with earthy Neutrals

Playing with colours is always fun and adds freshness to your looks. Lately, mixing up a bright colour palette with a neutral one has taken a centre stage in our daily fits. Be it a brunch, or a college day, this combination is here to save you. Colours like bright hot pink, lemon, and kiwi green have taken over. Sport a colorful tee with a pair of neutral straight pants or a skirt for our day out. Complete the look with some minimal gold-toned accessories and sneakers. The key is to keep it simple, do not go too overboard with it, as it may spoil the look.

Pretty pastels

Pastel shades have taken over the summer with a roll. You can spot a soft lilac or cornflower blue ensemble in almost all the stores around you. Pastel-toned fitted-tops and baguettes are becoming a statement piece this summer. Style a pastel outfit with a white bag, sneakers, and minimal jewelry to create a comfortable summer outfit.

Tie-dyes and oversized shirts

With the pandemic taking over, we all surely did a lot of DIY projects, making our own tie-dye shirts being one of them. Do not hesitate in making them a part of your everyday casual fits. Style your colourful tie-dye crop tops and oversized shirts with solid pants and complete your no-effort look for a casual outing. If you are not a fan of tie-dyes, opt for comfortable oversized shirts with fitted pants for your day out.

Dramatic and voluminous sleeves

We all love a bit of drama for a change when we go out for a movie or just a casual dinner. Do not refrain from experimenting, look out for ruffled sleeves and puffed voluminous sleeves to add an extra touch of glamour to your look. However, be cautious, and do not overdo it. Neutralize the look by playing well with the colour scheme and accessories, keep the central focus in mind, and style accordingly. For an ethnic look, style your favorite solid saree with a dramatic sleeved blouse with a statement pair of earrings.

The returning 2000's

The 2000's fashion is returning and we are not complaining. Faded denim jeans, silk slip dresses and mid-rise boots are back in trend. Invest in a piece or two to change your everyday game. Pick out a faded ripped pair of jeans or a classic silk slip dress to amp up your style. Complete the look with statement accessories and a baguette bag.

Less is more: accessorize consciously

It is easy to feel tempted to go overboard with accessories. Invest in timeless pieces like pearl earrings and chokers. For an everyday look, turn to minimal light accessories like gold-toned earrings and rings. For an extra effect, look for statement pieces like oversized studs, gemstones, etc. Do not go around hoarding accessories, look for versatile timeless pieces.

Timeless Chikankari

For an ethnic look or a casual fusion, chikankari never goes wrong. This spring, invest in a few chiknakari ensembles for a casual look or a formal event. The best part of this elegant Lucknow-based art is that it's versatile. Get yourself a pastel or a classic white chikankari kurta and create multiple looks. Experiment with your accessories and create an effortless fit for any event.

Classic organza fits

Organza is one of the most flattering fabrics when it comes to taking your style quotient to a new level. A well-styled organza ensemble or a classic organza saree can never go wrong. Invest in a piece while you play around with the color palate. Go for unconventional shades that flatter you, some suggestions are sage green, dusty rose, peach, sea blue, and ivory. As a finishing touch, complete the look with pearls.

Ikat prints

Ikat prints add a new freshness to your ensembles. An ikat print fabric in the right hues for a breezy look for your day is the right choice. Style your ikat print kurtas with silver jewelry to complete the outfit. Add a casual tote bag to the look for your day out this summer.

Co-ord sets

Co-ord sets are the simplest throw when it comes to casual outings or a Sunday brunch. You can pick from a range of colors and fabrics. Style it as you please, go for pastel cotton sets or a handwoven fabric co-ord ensemble. To transform the day look into an evening one add minimal accessories and finish the look.

With these few styling tips in mind, step out this summer with ease. Do not refrain from playing with tones and styles, make it comfortable and trendy at the same time. However, always remember, that what you choose to wear should be up to you, don't feel the pressure to do something you don't want to, styling your looks should make you happy, do it for yourself as you please.
