New Delhi: Often, we use cab to reach our destinations -- be it a work place, schools, colleges etc. But thinking of the doing the same on daily basis becomes frustrating as cab drivers often cancel the bookings. Notably, in today's scenario, it has become habitual for them and for us too.
Miffed over the repeatedly cancelation of their bookings some customers of ended up fighting with the cab driver or the customer executive of the company. However, the matter remains at the same place where it has started as the company too didn't initiate any action against those cab drivers.
In this article, we will go through the all possible ways that one can take while he/she faces the similar situation.
-- Whenever you book a cab ride of any company, ensure that you make note of the cab number. Preferably take a screenshot on your mobile.
-- After booking a ride, the cab driver will seek some details such as the end destination; do provide the same to them.
-- If the cab driver cancels the ride or refuses to allow you to board after learning the end destination, in that case share the date, time, location with your city Traffic police on twitter or via WhatsApp. You also need to take a screenshot of the cancelled ride to share with the traffic police.
-- One should now that u/s 178 (3) (a) of the Motor Vehicle Act, 1988 cancelling the ride attracts a penalty of Rs 500 for state run buses and Rs 200 for private cabs.
Notably, a cab ride cancels the ride as after completing a couple of rides, the money is not accrued to him immediately which generally put the cab driver in a difficult position.
Hence, when a customer says that the mode of payment is digital, the cab driver cancels the ride to avoid the delay in receiving the payment.
However, to get rid of these situation aggregators need to settle the amount by the end of each day, which will eventually help in reducing the number of rides that are cancelled on a daily basis.
