SRINAGAR: In yet another development from the state of Jammu and Kashmir, two soldiers were killed and four other soldiers were injured in another encounter with tourists. This incident took place in the Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir on Friday and authorities mentioned that additional troops will be deployed in the region.

Defence sources mentioned that the Indian Army had launched an operation to flush out the terrorists who had been responsible for the attack on the security forces, which left five soldiers dead.

The Defence Department spokesperson said, "Terrorists triggered explosives in retaliation, in which the army suffered two casualties and four more soldiers, including an officer, were injured". He also mentioned that the injured were shifted to the Command Hospital located in Udhampur in the state.

This operation took place in the Kandi region of the Rajouri district after the army received intelligence information that a group of terrorists were hiding in a came in the region. These were the same terrorists involved in the ambush of an army truck carrying food items for the local people ahead of the celebration of Ramzan. The terrorists had killed five soldiers at Bhata Dhurian in the Poonch district on April 20 and robbed the weapons with the fallen soldiers.

"Indian Army columns have been conducting relentless intelligence-based operations to flush out a group of terrorists involved in an ambush on an army truck in the Tota Gali area of Bhata Dhurian in the Jammu region," added the spokesperson.

Previously, taking actions based on intelligence reports about the presence of militants in the Wanigam Payeen Kreeri area of Baramulla district in north Kashmir, the security forces launched an operation in the early hours of Thursday morning. The militants reportedly opened fire at the security forces during the operation, forcing them to retaliate. The militants were killed during the exchange of fire, according to the statement issued by the police.
