AASCSU threatens massive movement

GOLAGHAT, April 12:  A new body of All Assam Scheduled Caste Students’ Union (AASCSU) central committee was formed with Dr Harikanta Das as president and Paramanda Das as secretary. In the meeting, several resolutions were taken and AASCSU threatened all those against the SC, ST reservation act. They said that AASCSU would launch massive movement in support of reservation for SCs, STs.

The central body representative meeting of AASCSU was held at Amateur Theatre hall on Wednesday with a day-long programme. In a press statement, AASCSU central committee general secretary Paramanda Das said that more than 300 representative took part in the programme. The programme started with flag hosting by AASCSU president Dr. Harikanta Das followed by floral tribute before the portraits of Dr BR Ambedkar, Dr. Bhupen Hazarika and Acharya Ilaram Das by secretary Pinku Das Choudhury. Later, a representative meeting was held where iugural speeches were delivered by AASCSU adviser Jitul Das.
