Ahmedabad man set on fire by wife

Ahmedabad: A 40-year-old man was allegedly set on fire by his wife after he suspected her of having an extra-marital affair. The man, identified as Dinesh Makwana suffered severe burn injuries on hands, legs and chest. He is currently hospitalised in Aswara Civil Hospital in Ahmedabad for treatment.

The victim also filed a complaint against his wife from the hospital and narrated the entire incident to the cops.

According to his complaint, Dinesh stated that wife, Dharmishtha, beat him up when he enquired about the suspected affair and told her that many people have complained about her affair. However, his wife got angry after he confronted her and beat him up. He said that the same night his wife left for her parent's house but had poured "some inflammable liquid" on him and set him on fire while he was asleep.

Dinesh stated his wife works as a domestic help in the Makarba area and had an extramarital affair with a man named Mukesh Vala.
