Amit Shah acknowledges request for CBI inquiry into Sushant Singh Rajput's suicide case

Guwahati: It has been a month since Sushant Singh Rajput died by suicide and the actor's fans have been rallying on social media for a CBI inquiry into his death. Political leaders too have made demands for a CBI investigation to unravel the reasons that might have led the actor to take such a drastic step. Bihar's Jan Adhikar Party president Pappu Yadav put in a request in June, for a CBI inquiry. Home Minister Amit Shah has sent Pappu Yadav a letter today, acknowledging his request.

The letter stated that Yadav's request was received on June 16, 2020. It added that since the CBI falls under the purview of the Department of Personnel and Training, Yadav's letter is being forwarded to the concerned ministry. Yadav shared a copy of the letter on his Twitter account. Yadav, in his tweet, appealed Shah to take more immediate action.

"Amit Shah ji, if you want, a CBI inquiry can be initiated into Sushant's case in a minute. Do not avoid it! A letter was sent to the Union Home Minister seeking a CBI inquiry into the suspicious death of film actor Sushant Singh Rajput, the pride of Bihar. He has forwarded the letter to the concerned ministry for action," Yadav tweeted.

Mumbai Police have been investigating Sushant Singh Rajput's death and have taken statements of around 35 people, including the late actor's rumored girlfriend Rhea Chakraborty, casting director Mukesh Chhabra, whose directorial debut is with Sushant's upcoming last film 'Dil Bechara', actress Sanjana Sanghi, casting director Shaanu Sharma and filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali.

Subramanian Swamy had also supported the request for a CBI probe into Sushant Singh Rajput's suicide case. He wrote on Twitter that he has asked Ishkaran Singh Bhandari, lawyer and political analyst, to look into the matter and find out if the case fits the prerequisites for a CBI investigation.
