Amit Shah hits back at Rahul Gandhi for his China comments

New Delhi: In a sharp response to Congress leader Rahul Gandhi's recent comment on China, Union Home Minister Amit Shah said that if Congress had thrown out China in "15 minutes", in 1962, India would not have lost hectares of land to the Chinese.

Shah has hit back at Gandhi and his party by saying that they should have listened to their own advice in 1962 when India lost large areas of land during the border war with China.

Rahul Gandhi made a comment on October 7 during a rally against the new farm bills in Haryana, saying that, "China would not dare to take a step inside our territory if we were in power, we would have evicted and thrown out China and it would not have taken 15 minutes to do so."

The then-Prime Minister of India, Jawaharlal Nehru said "Bye Bye Assam" on Akashvani, when the country was losing land to Chinese. Infuriated Shar further targeted Gandhi as he asked how is the opposition party educating them on the same issue now.

Shah said that he is immensely proud of the 16 Bihar Regiment Soldiers, who gave a tough fight against the People's Liberation Army of China on June 15 at Galwan Valley, Ladakh. India hopes that through diplomatic talks between the two nations, a peaceful solution can be reached.
