Mumbai: In yet another shocking comment. Republic TV Editor-in-Chief, Arnab Goswami said that he was assaulted by Mumbai police personnel while he was being moved from the Alibag quarantine center to Taloja jail. Goswami said his life is under threat.
This is not the first time that the senior journalist Arnab Goswami has
made such statement. He had earlier also mentioned that police had assaulted
him and showed injury marks in his hands and legs.
Arnab was in judicial custody for four days since being arrested by the
Mumbai police on Wednesday.
While being shifted to Taloja jail in a police van with black screens on
its windows to prevent him from being seen, Goswami claimed that he was being
assaulted and his life is under threat.
In a video posted by the official handle of the Republic media network, Arnab was seen screaming from the van saying his life is under threat. He is not being allowed to speak to his lawyers and was pushed and assaulted. Arnab said he wants the people of the country to know that his life is under threat.
"My life is under threat, My life is under threat. I am not being allowed to speak to my
lawyers. I was pushed and assaulted this morning. They woke me up at 6 am. They
said I will not let you speak to the lawyers. Please tell the people of the
country that my life is under threat." Arnab screamed from the police vav
while police blocked him from speaking.
Arnab was sent to 14 days judicial custody on Wednesday evening by the
Alibag CM and the Bombay HC on Saturday
reserved the order in the plea challenging Arnab's arrest. After which it was
declared that the verdict will be pronounced at 3 pm on Monday.
Arnab's shifting to Taloja jail was not intimated to Arnab Goswami's
lawyers.
