Following the successful completion of the ground-breaking ceremony of the proposed Ram Temple in Ayodhya on August 5, the ancient holy town is now gearing up to witness a star-studded Ramlila this Dussehra.

As per reports, a three-member production team reached Ayodhya from New Delhi to carry out a survey of the venue on Tuesday.

A host of popular Bollywood celebrities, including actors and singers, will take part in this year's Ramlila, which will be the first to be held since the construction of the Ram temple began in Ayodhya.

Nine day Ayodhya ki Ramleela will be carried out at Laxman Quila at the banks of the river Saryu from October 17-25 by which Bollywood actors will play more than a few characters of the epic.

The Mayor of Ayodhya Rishikesh Upadhyay informed "The manufacturing workforce of Ramleela visited Ayodhya to survey the spot," mentioned Rishikesh Upadhyay, Mayor of Ayodhya.

Bindu Dara Singh, son of the late wrestler and actor Dara Singh who had previously played the iconic role of Lord Hanuman in Ramnand Sagar's Ramayana, will follow in the footsteps of his father by essaying the same role in the Ramleela in Ayodhya.

Veteran actors Raza Murad and Bollywood comedian Asrani would also be seen as Ahiravan and Narad Muni, respectively.

Manoj Tewari, the actor turned politician who is the BJP MP from north-east Delhi, will portray the role of Angad, son of king Bali of Kishkindha.

Meanwhile, popular Bhojpuri filmstar and now Gorakhpur MP Ravi Kishan will play the role of Bharat, lord Ram's younger brother.

The role of Sita will be essayed through Kavita Joshi.

As per reports, if the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic subsides by then, spectators will be allowed to witness the grand Ramleela. Otherwise, the week–long celebrations will be streamed in social networking platforms like Fb, YouTube and Instagram.

The programme will telecast live on Doordarshan and other channels.
