New Delhi: With the COVID-19 continuing to remain a menace, small moments of happiness have become all the more important for Indians. A recent development that took place aboard an Indigo flight will have you smiling with joy. A pregnant woman passenger delivered a baby boy on Wednesday onboard a Delhi-Bengaluru IndiGo flight. The IndiGo crew successfully managed to assist the woman in her delivery when the baby boy was prematurely born.

Confirming the development via a statement, the airliner wrote, "We confirm that a baby boy was delivered prematurely on flight 6E 122 from Delhi to Bengaluru. There are no further details available."

Meanwhile, the rumour mill is abuzz with what this development could potentially mean for the newborn boy. Some reports suggest that Indigo is contemplating giving free tickets to the baby for life!

Photos and videos from the IndiGo flight showing the crew and passengers applauding the woman and her baby are now doing the rounds on social media, where the infant already seems to have become something of a star.

Videos shot by the passengers and crew are now being widely circulated on social media platforms. In one such video, IndiGo ground staff and other crew members can be seen standing on the porch and applauding as others assist the woman and her newborn baby in deplaning.

As the woman got off the plane, an IndiGo Airlines team welcomed the baby and her mother to Bengaluru in a mini celebration on the tarmac itself with posters.

"Indigo welcomes you to Namma Bengaluru", read one of these posters, help up by the IndiGo officials welcoming the newborn baby and the mother to the city.
